4. Contact Team

This video explains the role of law enforcement contact teams in Active Shooter Incident Management. The instructor defines contact teams as 2–4 officers operating downrange in the hot and warm zones to provide security, locate and neutralize the threat, report casualties, establish casualty collection points and ambulance exchange points, and create safe corridors for rescue. It also covers how contact teams from multiple agencies work across hot, warm, and cold zones, stay aligned on priorities, and continuously think one step ahead so rescue and clearing operations can move faster and save more lives.
